ABOUT ME

That is a tough question always hard to answer about oneself. But I will try my best to give you an idea who Brian Caldwell is. I see myself as an educator, mentor, designer, artist, illustrator, painter, maker but most importantly a creative who has never stopped learning.  I am always quick to share my experience and expertise whenever and to whomever is ready and willing to expand and broaden their horizons. 

I am always and constantly learning. But improving myself is not my only goal. Through my actions as an educator, mentor, advisor, professional and creative, I strive to improve and give back to the community, campus and student body. I frequently participate in a variety of activities that have a positive impact not to just one area but most times to all three areas. 

I play a wide variety of roles as art director, design soundboard, mentor, task master when working on a project.  So my goal is to meld or change to a role of more of an art director to guide my client on good design choices concerning the message, layout, visual hierarchy, as well as file structure and file type concerning the projects at hand.  I push my design concepts while guiding the clients' message for their particular audience and while keeping their deadlines. 

My creative work is built on a firm foundation of a continual education that must be shared immediately while blending traditional design practices with theory and historical reference. Ultimately, my goal is to produce passionate designs with a client and utilize my thorough and working knowledge of design systems, practical applications, and the means for critical and applied design.  A successful creative is someone who is critical and innovative thinker, capable of creating design solutions that fulfill the clients needs while becoming  an integral part of their success in their respective field.
